Erik Scott Theatre Workshops:
Black Swan alumni, Erik Scott is in his final year of studies in Drama, Applied Theatre and Education: Writing for Performance at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London England. Erik has facilitated playwriting courses for Oldham Theatre Workshops and Write Yourself In U.K. program. He has also led applied theatre workshops with Lifting Hands Intl. for Yazidi Refugees in Serres, Greece and co-wrote/performed in an Applied theatre production for Swindon, England. He was also actor with Black Swan Youth Theatre for seven years.
Combining years of theatrical experience and practical application from his Applied Theatre and Education degree, Erik offers acting and playwriting workshops which have been tested and professionally mentored for peak quality, providing students the tools to dig deeper into theatrical performance.
All workshops will be held 20 minutes from Portland in Corbett, Oregon, overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. Erik is also happy to teach workshops for schools and local theatre groups at their location under special arrangements. BEATRIX POTTER THEATRE (ages 4-8 years) :
This play lab class is designed specifically for young actors. Delve into the world of Peter Rabbit, Jemina Puddleduck and friends while have fun learning the basics of acting. Performance for family on last day.

Stage Combat 101 ( ages 10-18:)
With years of experience as a stage combat choreographer/instructor, we will cover hand on hand, foil and broad sword stage combat techniques in a remarkably fun and safe course. This course will not only serve as entertaining but provide an incredibly valuable skill set for those wishing to pursue acting further. The course will conclude with a performance of the various fighting styles we have covered.
Session 1 : 1-3 pm, July 15-19th:$80
Playwriting (ages 13-18):
In this more advanced course, we will draw from both theory and practical work direct from Royal Central’s Writing for Performance program to be both an introductory course for those who have never written a line of dialogue as of yet as well as a captivating expansion for those already flexing their writing muscles. Writing masterclasses will be directly from award winning professional playwrights/screenwriters. This course will include both written and practical exercises and conclude with rehearsed readings of each of the student’s 8 minute playlets. 10-1 pm, July 22-26th:$115
Playwriting ( ages 8-12):
Drawing from the curriculum professionally devised for Write Yourself In UK, we will embark on an introductory course to playwriting with the students’ five minute plays to have a script in hand performance at the end of the course. We will be exploring genres, structure and dialogue techniques through both writing exercises and Drama games.Performances on last day.10am-1pm, July 29-August 2nd:$115
Improv Comedy (ages 13-18) :
Come learn the art of improvisation,Practice your acting, storytelling and comedy skills by playing improv games on stage. Get ready to act in plays where you have no clue what your part is and have to make it up as you go. Invite your family and friends to watch you perform on the last day.10am-noon,August 5-9th:$80
Harry Potter Play Lab : ( ages 8-12) Actors will be recreating scenes from the brilliant Harry Potter books while learning about character development, accents and voice. Don’t miss this fun and creative camp! Performances on last day.10am-1 pm, August 12-16th: $115
All The World’s a Stage:(12-18)-Delve into Shakespeare through working on scenes from one play from each genre: comedy, tragedy and history.This camp promises to be accelerate your acting skills as well as being incredibly fun.Performances on last day. 2pm-5pm, August 12-16th, $120
